The protein function is completely dependent on the protein structure. Discovering the tertiary structure of a protein can provide important clues about how the protein performs its function. Our research target is to understand the biological mechanisms that are responsible for the regulation of biological systems. We use primarily X-ray crystallography in combination with other molecular approaches to study the structure and function of proteins. In particular, we are interested in the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway and related regulatory systems.
