Beam Physics

Characteristics and usage of electron, ion and laser beam are very different, but the "brightness" or "emittance" can be used as a common measure of beam performance. NewSUBARU facility in the University of Hyogo generates stable soft-x-ray synchrotron radiation (SR) from light speed electrons. The group "Beam Physics" is engaged in improvements of SR performance and developments of new light source such as gamma-ray beam and THz radiation.
