Chemical Physics under Extreme Condition
Hiroki Wadati
The research topic of our group is the observation of the ordered states and dynamics of transition-metal compounds by using laboratory lasers and synchrotron X-rays. Recently, we mainly use laboratory light sources to perform time-resolved pump-probe measurements and high-order harmonic generation. We are challenging to reveal the physical properties of materials under various conditions. The present and future topics are multiferroic materials with both magnetism and ferroelectricity, ferromagnets where one can control magnetization by laser irradiation, unusually high-valent unstable oxides, magnetism in biomaterials, properties under high pressure, and so on.
