Earth Science

[ Japanese ]

The chair of Earth Science was founded in 1990. Since then, we have been intensively working on chemical and structural characterization of minerals and inorganic compounds by diffraction method together with electron-probe microanalysis, and atomistic computer simulation. Our special interest is mainly in "Computer simulation of the structural and thermodynamic properties of Earth's materials", "Analysis and interpretation of chemical zoning in various minerals", "Determination of incommensurately modulated structures with description in the space higher than three dimension" and "Development of a system for measurement of micro-area diffraction using SPring-8, a synchrotron radiation facility".
