Our research interests focus on structural and thermodynamic properties of minerals, and their changes with temperature and pressure. We use X-ray diffraction techniques, electron-probe microanalysis, and atomistic computer simulations to investigate them. Our recent study includes (1) X-ray diffraction experiments on minerals in thin sections using micro-beam synchrotron radiation combined with the Laue method, (2) high temperature and high pressure synchrotron powder X-ray diffraction measurements of mantle minerals, and (3) computer simulation of the structural and thermodynamic properties of deep Earth materials.
